Hello fantastic people!  Happy Friday. I hope you have had another productive week working from home. The Year 10 Team have been rushed off their feet making calls to your parents and carers, and I think it's fair to say that most of you are excited for things to return to normal! Having said that, when things do return to normal I am sure some of you will be wishing we were back in lockdown, spending quality time with your loved ones! So make the most of this as it will not last forever.  Anyway, PLEASE KEEP GOING, stay on top of your work and keep emailing your teachers when you are stuck or need support. A message from Mr Keeling.. (The big boss) Over the course of this week it has been a pleasure to speak to your parents and get updates on how things are going at home. Friday 20th March was our last school day and here we are approaching the end of our 4th home learning week in lockdown! I know some of you are finding it increasingly difficult to stay motivated a...

A New Term, A New You! Welcome back to your final team in Year 10. I hope you and your family had a restful and relaxing Easter. I don't know about you, but I am feeling incredibly guilty about the number of eggs that I managed to scoff down and I am actually looking forward to having a bit more structure and routine to my day! By now you should be finishing off this week's work that was on SMHW and please remember to send this to your teachers. After calling your parents before the break, it became apparent that some of you were finding the workload a bit daunting. This was fed back to the Leadership Team and as a result you should see that the work has been condensed. If for any reason you were not able to complete some of the work set, it is important that you make note of this and that you tell your teachers over email, so they know how best to support you when things go back to normal. I know it's really tough but it is really important you try and stay on ...

Stay positive, better days are on their way!

Dear Year 10, We have made it to the end of a very strange term! I would like to start by saying a massive WELL DONE to you all. I know that most of you have been working tirelessly over the last two weeks, and you really do deserve a two week holiday with your families. Yes, you heard me correctly, REST, RELAX, RECHARGE and REJUVENATE and put the work down! The Year 10 Team and I have tried every effort to make contact with you all, and it's been fantastic to hear how optimistic you have all been, considering the circumstances. You are such a resilient bunch and I count my blessings regularly that I get to work with such amazing young adults!  I know I often have to nag you from time to time... 'why are you late' and 'unroll your skirt' and 'stop dumping your trainers under my desk' (Sam and Max Clayton and Finlay Coughlan this rant is usually aimed at you!) but I have really missed seeing you all these last couple of weeks and I know that you are m...

Happy Friday Year 10!!  One week down....WE HAVE GOT THIS! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADP65wbBUpc - (Alexa played this whilst I was typing this blog which seemed quite fitting!) Yes, it's me again . Thanks to those of you that sent nice emails about the blog, they made my day! I hope your first week of home schooling has been successful, and that you are completeing the work set on SMHW and sending it to your teachers, so they can give you feedback. I was listening to an interview on the television earlier today (in my break of course) and the reporter mentioned how teenagers, in particular, were feeling most anxious about the current climate which made me think of all you lovely people. He mentioned that feeling anxious  WAS TOTALLY NORMAL.  So if you are feeling a little concerned or worried, know that you are not alone.Rest assured that things will get better and I am only an email away, if you want to talk or have any questions or concerns. ...
